For children, adolescents and adults
Art & Play Therapy
When words are hard to find, making and playing offer another honest way to be understood.
Not everything that hurts can be put into a sentence — especially for children, and often for adults too. Art and play therapy give you a different doorway in: colour, materials, movement and imagination, with a therapist beside you the whole way.
You don't need to be artistic. Nothing you make is graded, interpreted at you, or shown to anyone else. The work is simply a way of letting something out where it can be seen and gently understood.
For children
Play is a child's most natural language. In session, your child might build, draw, tell a story or move through a scene — and in doing so, work through feelings that are far too big for words. Our therapists follow the child's lead, keeping the room warm, safe and predictable, and share practical observations with parents and caregivers along the way.
For adolescents
Teens are often asked to explain themselves and rarely given room to simply express. Creative work takes the pressure off eye contact and direct questioning, which is frequently where the real conversation begins — about identity, friendships, anxiety, school pressure or family change.
For adults
Adults come to art therapy for stress, grief, burnout, trauma recovery, or simply to reconnect with a part of themselves that has gone quiet. Sessions are unhurried and low-pressure, and can stand alone or run alongside talk therapy.
Curious whether this would suit you or your child? Give us a call — we'll happily describe what a first session actually looks like.
