Releasing the charge held by overwhelming experiences

Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR/LSR)

A structured, client-centred method for reducing the lingering weight of traumatic or painful events.

Some experiences keep their grip long after they're over. You may find yourself re-triggered by something small, or carrying a weight you can't quite set down. Traumatic Incident Reduction is designed for exactly that.

TIR allows you to desensitise painful experiences and reduce the negative impact of traumatic, overwhelming events by re-experiencing past trauma in a completely safe environment — free of distractions, judgements or interpretations.

The approach

TIR/LSR is based on Applied Metapsychology: a client-centred, non-judgemental approach that uses structured techniques to address and release the unwanted emotional or behavioural after-effects of shocking or severe events.

Your facilitator blends heavier and lighter techniques across the course of your sessions, following your pace rather than a fixed script.

What it can help with

This work is used both for specific events and for painful ongoing issues:

  • Grief, loss and neglect
  • Accidents, injuries and illness
  • Violence and threat
  • Anxiety, fears and phobias
  • Difficult relationships and low self-esteem
  • Job and career concerns
  • Depression and health worries

Where it leads

The end point is a person who is more empowered — unburdened from emotional charge and re-triggering, and ready to engage in life with a more positive state of mind.
